Professeur Samuel Fikiri
Samuel Fikiri holds a PhD in Criminology and Forensic Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), Durban, South Africa, a Higher Education Academy Fellowship (FHEA) in the United Kingdom.
He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at Northumbria University, Newcastle City Campus, in the United Kingdom. Newcastle City Campus, in the United Kingdom. Professor of Criminology at the University of Goma and Université de Cinquantenaire Lwiro “UNI50”.
His recent publications include “The Immigration Policies as an Exclusion Practice: A Serious Threat to Human Dignity among the Diasporas”; “The Trends of Cybersecurity and Its Emerging Challenges in Africa” (Springer, 2023); “University Campuses and Types of Crime:
A case study of the university of KwaZulu Natal/Howard campus in the city of Durban-South Africa” (Cogent Social Sciences, 2022); Xenophobia in South Africa: A Human Security Perspective on African Foreign Nationals in Durban (Journal of African Foreign Affairs, 2019).
Prof Fikiri He has also been a lecturer of Criminology, Criminal Justice, Criminalistics: crime scene investigation, Corrections, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, among many other criminology-related modules at Universities in Africa and Europe.
He has a membership in the British Society of Criminology, the World Society of Victimology (WSV), the Criminological Society of Africa (CRIMSA) and the Golden Key International Honour Society (GK). His areas of research are Crime and Policing, Public Safety and Security,
Criminal Justice, Hate crime, Victim rights, Migrants, Refugees and Xenophobia. Dr Fikiri holds a Doctoral, Master’s, Honours, and bachelor’s degree in the discipline of Criminology and Forensic studies.
